P.E.

 PE

Our main PE lesson is on Friday. Please ensure that your child has the correct indoor and outdoor kit, as the weather gets colder and wetter children will need to be dressed appropriately as they will be in their kits all day. Earrings must be taken out before PE lessons, either by the parent or the child - staff are not permitted to do this.

Other Helpful Hints

Tapestry

If you have not yet filled out your Tapestry form, please see Mrs Paget to collect one asap. Please log your children's learning experiences at home on their tapestry account. Tapestry is a great way to share learning and information and will be my main form of communication with you this year. The mobile app is a fantastic resource and you can see what your child is up to at school at the click of a finger.

Reading

It is expected that children are heard to read at home for at least 10-15 minutes a day and that this is recorded on their reading diary. Children will be issued two books each week - one will be their choice from our library, the other will be from the reading scheme. Both books will be sent home on a Wednesday and are due back in the following Monday. You must record that your child has read in their reading diary in order for their book to be changed (otherwise they will keep the same books for another week).

Welly boots

As the weather changes, please encourage your child to bring in a pair of wellington boots.

Water bottles

Please ensure that your child has a named water bottle every day - we do have a drinking water tap so can regularly refill the bottles.

School dinners

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal each day. We also provide a healthy snack each day.

Uniform

Please ensure that your child is in the correct school uniform/PE kit and that this is labelled. Cardigans and jumpers are often removed throughout the school day and these can be difficult to return to the correct owner if they do not have a name inside.

Contacting me

We will be on the gate to welcome the children every day however we cannot engage in long conversations at the gate in the mornings or afternoons. If you need to speak to us at length, please do call the office and I will return your call as soon as I can.
